InsightAdam and Eve, in the Christian story, fell from the Garden of Eden because they ate from the Tree of Knowledge. This human desire for knowledge forever drives us to ask questions. Rarely do we simply meditate on the beauty of the natural world into which we are mortally bound. Poems and pictures offer us glimpses. I continue to find inspiration in poetry. My painting 'Apples' is inspired by Laurie Lee's poem of the same name and there are many others. Nature is too big for me to have found just one style to fit everything I encounter, so I use different techniques to express what I wish to say. I prod and probe and paint, hoping to reflect something of its complexity and beauty, looking for a glimpse of Eden.'
